Collection & removal assessment
The cost of a clearance is based on a number of criteria, including the type and number of items for collection, the inclusion of UPSs and batteries and the extent of data removal needed. The location of the clearance site does not influence the total charge for the clearance, though Absolute Networks will seek to minimise the environmental impact of its activities by maximising clearances in an area on a given routing.
The clearance charge may be reduced by a proportion of the sale value of high performance equipment.
Transportation and transfer to Absolute Networks
Absolute Networks uses a team of uniformed and trained staff with company transport to clear all designated equipment from a customer's premises with minimal involvement of and disruption to the client.
All clearances are covered by appropriate and legislated paperwork. Where hazardous waste is involved, the clearance can only take place from premises coded by the Environment Agency, a compliance that can be set up by Absolute Networks.
This paperwork will be retained by both parties and legislation requires that this shall be for a period of 3 years.
Absolute Networks is a registered carrier in accordance with the Control of Pollution (Amendment) Act 1989, registration number BLT/658916. Absolute Networks also has a Waste Management Licence for its premises in Derby.
General services
All equipment is assetted on arrival. It is then sorted into complete and partial equipment which has a value in the second-user market. All equipment is debadged and then:
- saleable equipment is tested, cleaned and prepared for sale
- non-saleable equipment is broken down according to relevant economic criteria and prepared for shipment to a waste recycler
